FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
These are the questions we are most often asked by patients visiting from overseas.
Language
Language
QCan I be seen in English?+
Yes. Our doctor speaks English, so the consultation itself can be conducted in English.
QWhat about reception and paperwork?+
Our reception and nursing staff do not speak English. Check-in, the medical history form and payment are handled using a translation app. Writing your symptoms down before you arrive makes this part much easier.
QCan you provide an interpreter?+
We are not able to arrange interpreters. If you would like one present, please arrange it yourself before your visit.
QAre documents available in English?+
Certificates, referral letters and prescriptions are written in Japanese. If you need a document for an insurance claim or for your employer, please tell reception before your consultation.
Insurance
Insurance and cost
QDo you accept Japanese health insurance?+
Yes. Please bring your My Number card used as an insurance card, your certificate of eligibility, or your health insurance card.
QI do not have Japanese health insurance. Can I still be seen?+
Yes. You will pay the full cost of the consultation and any medicines yourself, and we will give you a receipt.
QCan you bill my travel insurance directly?+
No. You pay at the clinic and claim from your insurer afterwards. Please tell reception before your consultation if you will need documents for a claim.
QHow much will it cost?+
It depends on what is needed, so we cannot give a figure in advance. Reception can explain the cost before treatment if you ask.
Visiting
Visiting
QDo I need an appointment?+
No. Booking shortens your wait, but walk-in patients are seen. Note that the booking app is in Japanese only.
QCan children and adults be seen on the same visit?+
Yes. We treat both children and adults. Please book separately for each person.
QCan I pay by credit card?+
Yes. Credit cards, transport IC cards and other e-money, and QR code payments are all accepted, as well as cash.
QIs there parking?+
Yes, free of charge. Only certain spaces belong to the clinic, so please check the map on the access page before parking.
QI have a fever. What should I do?+
Please contact us before coming, rather than walking in. Fever patients are seen in a separate slot. See the fever clinic page.
Questions before you come?
Please telephone the clinic on 043-486-0200. Calls are answered in Japanese only, so if language is a difficulty, coming to reception in person is often easier — staff will use a translation app with you.
