For Children
From newborns through to teenagers. Our doctor has worked as a pediatric surgeon, and children are the heart of this clinic.
A clinic children are not afraid of
Koshibe Clinic has looked after children in Sakura City since 1996. Many of the babies we saw in the early years now bring their own children here.
There is no upper age limit. Because we also practise internal medicine, children can keep seeing the same doctor as they grow into adults.
Common reasons to come
Surgical problems in children
Our doctor is a pediatric surgery specialist and previously headed pediatric surgery departments at several hospitals. Parents often ask whether a problem needs an operation or can simply be watched — this is exactly the judgement we can help with.
Common examples include inguinal hernia, umbilical hernia (an "outie" navel), undescended testis, stubborn constipation, lumps and bumps, and injuries.
We assess the problem and, where an operation or specialist care is needed, refer you to an appropriate hospital. Referral letters are written in Japanese.
Infant health checks and vaccinations
We carry out infant health checks and childhood vaccinations. Please bring the Maternal and Child Health Handbook. Vaccination appointments are made by telephone only, so that we can check what your child has already received.
More about vaccinations →If your child has a fever
Please contact us before coming rather than walking in — children with a fever are seen in a separate slot.
Questions before you come?
Please telephone the clinic on 043-486-0200. Calls are answered in Japanese only, so if language is a difficulty, coming to reception in person is often easier — staff will use a translation app with you.
